When do you need a sworn translation?

In most countries, public authorities and institutions require official documents and evidence (see the list below for examples) to be translated by a sworn translator. If you are unsure what is required for your document, we recommend contacting the recipient of your translation.

Prices

Unfortunately, we cannot provide prices in advance, as each document is handled differently, and we depend on consulting a sworn translator before we can provide a price for your specific documents. However, we work with a minimum price of SEK 995 excl. VAT (SEK 1,243.75 incl. VAT).

A sworn translation is required by authorities to ensure accurate representation of the information in the source text. A regular professional translation covers all types of texts from almost any industry. What is a sworn translation?

A sworn translation has been carried out by a sworn translator appointed by Kammarkollegiet (the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency), who is thereby authorized to stamp and, with their signature, confirm that the translation is a complete and accurate representation of the source text.

Documents that typically require a sworn translation:

Certificates of registration, articles of association, powers of attorney, contracts, tax documents, inheritance documents, deeds, medical certificates, death certificates, case documents, adoption documents, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, academic transcripts, diplomas, employment certificates, course certificates, birth certificates, criminal record extracts, etc. If you don't find your document on the list, we can most likely still help you.

We handle your texts confidentially

All documents we work with are treated confidentially. When you upload your document via our website, this is done through a secure file upload, as our website is encrypted. All translators working with Auktorisering.se are also bound by full confidentiality.

If the documents are to be used abroad, an Apostille from a Notary Public or legalization via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may be required, depending on the country. For countries outside the Hague Convention, additional legalization via an embassy or consulate may also be needed.

We recommend that you always check with the recipient which requirements apply, as the rules can vary depending on the country and authority.
